Our Story
Why GearBook exists

Founder
Luke
I'm Luke, founder of GearBook and an avid rock climber, skier, freediver, and spearfisher. I've had the pleasure of adventuring with some pretty seasoned professionals around the world, and one common thread I noticed was their deep relationship with their gear.
I previously worked for Christie's International Real Estate, where I assisted a team of realtors with their bookkeeping and marketing, while my degrees in finance and commercial real estate inform my work here. With GearBook, I oversee all affiliate marketing operations, secure partnerships with retailers, deliver sales metrics, and contribute to website development.
I'm a strong believer that guides and educators are the backbone of safety in the field, curating aspects of their clients' experience, and passing along valuable knowledge and skills. Outdoor professionals deserve to benefit from the influence they already have at no additional cost. That's the philosophy GearBook is built on and I'm inspired to help those who make the outdoors accessible to so many.

Co-Founder
Matt
I'm Matt, co-founder of GearBook and the one building what you're looking at right now. I'm a Creative Technology & Design graduate from the University of Colorado Boulder with a minor in Computer Science, which lets me approach problems from both the creative and technical side.
By day, I work as a graphic designer with the GVC team at Douglas Elliman. Previously, I was at Trimble designing people-focused solutions for Business Systems and Change Management. I've also worked as a web developer, climbing instructor, and associate project manager, so I bring a little bit of everything to the table.
Crafting and creating is my passion, whether it's digital, physical, or somewhere in between. I'm dedicated to building tools and experiences that shape how people interact with the world around them.
I also really like frogs.

Photography
Mack Lambert
A huge thank you to Mack Lambert, whose stunning photography brings GearBook to life. The images you see across this site are his work, and they capture the spirit of the outdoors better than we ever could with words alone.

What We Stand For
Transparency
You see exactly how many clicks, sales, and dollars you generated every month. No black boxes, no "trust us."
Simplicity
Affiliate marketing is genuinely complicated. GearBook abstracts all of that so you never have to think about it.
Alignment
We earn a cut of your earnings, not a monthly fee. That means our interests are perfectly aligned with yours.
