Welcome to GearBook! Glad You're Here

welcome aboard. We're excited you're here! This newsletter is where we share simple ways to strengthen your client experience, build a more consistent brand, and hopefully improve the money-making part of your life. You'll hear from us once a week with practical tips, gear industry news, real stories from guides in the field, and tools to help you get more out of your catalog.

01

Understanding Your Guide Dashboard

Upon receiving your catalog, it's important to get familiar with your guide dashboard — it's your home base for everything GearBook. Here's a quick rundown of what you'll find there:

Clicks & Traffic Stats

Right under your name at the top of the page you'll see how many people are visiting your catalog page and buying your listed products, as well as your lifetime earnings. This is a great way to gauge how well your sharing strategy is working, whether that's your Instagram bio, a QR code at the trailhead, or a link in your trip confirmation emails.

Profile Completion Progress Bar

Just under your traffic stats, you may find a progress bar. Hover your cursor over the bar (or use the dropdown arrow on mobile) to see a checklist of exactly what's missing from your profile. The big wins are adding new products, each one you add fills 10% of the bar, and you can add up to 8. The rest comes from providing your required information, payment method, and adding a profile picture

My Catalog

Access your unique catalog link and QR code any time. Click on the Print Handout button to either download your QR code as a PDF, or print a physical copy. Share them however works best for you and your clients. Here you can also view all the products you currently have in your catalog as well as the links to their respective websites.

Earnings

Track every dollar you've earned in real time. You'll see a running total of your lifetime earnings as well as some specifics from the latest month you've been paid. Some of these numbers are reiterations of what you already see at the top of the page, but metrics like clicks and conversion rate are imperative to consider as they allow you to make informed decisions about how and where you're marketing your catalog. We also provide your top 3 highest selling products, as well as some useful notes directly from the GearBook team about your catalog's performance.

Payout History

Here is a simple list of all the months you've been paid, the amount of clicks you generated that month, total qualifying sales made, amount paid, and whether the payment has been sent to you or not (paid vs. pending).

Request Changes

If you'd like to modify which products are included in your catalog as well as update your description about your current products, you can do so in the Catalog Changes form found under this tab.

My Profile

Keep your bio, photo, and credentials current. Here you also have the option to choose what your specialties are from our list. These show up alongside your professional certifications just under your name in the Guides tab. It allows your clients to use our filter feature when viewing GearBook guides to search for professionals who are only Alpine Guides or Avalanche Educators etc... You can also provide a link to your personal website if you have one, or link directly to where potential clients can book trips with you.
